LG Washer IE Error: Water Supply and Hose Checks

THE SHORT ANSWER

Water is not entering the washer as expected.

IE is a water-inlet warning. A closed supply valve, restricted inlet hose or clogged inlet screen can prevent filling. Incorrect drain-hose positioning can also let incoming water siphon out.

First safe check

Check whether the supply valves are open and the household water supply is available.

Applies to

LG front-load washers; check the exact installation instructions.

Before you start

Disconnect power and close water valves before disconnecting any inlet hose. Do not move a heavy appliance alone.

WORK THROUGH THE BASICS

Safe troubleshooting checks

0 of 3 checked

Use the checkboxes to keep track as you read. Stop at any warning or step that does not match your appliance.

  1. Confirm hot and cold lines connect to their matching inlets. Inspect for pinched hoses.

    What to note

Supply should be available through both required connections.

  2. Do not remove the factory holder to gain hose length. Keep the discharge end out of standing water.

    What to note

Routing should match the model’s installation drawing.

  3. After any correction, securely reconnect and check for leaks before retrying.

    What to note

If the code returns, record the model and seek service.

THE DETAILS MATTER

Scope & troubleshooting notes

Cold-water settings

A temperature setting does not replace the appliance’s required plumbing connections. Follow the model’s installation requirements.
