Prepare for residual water
Disconnect power before maintenance, let hot water cool, and prepare towels and a suitable container. Keep water away from electrical outlets. Stop if you cannot control the drainage safely.
Use the correct order
Where the manual supplies an emergency drain tube, drain the remaining water before opening the filter. Refit the tube cap and filter securely before any powered test.
Check the result
Look for leakage after reassembly and record whether the original drain problem changed. A persistent fault needs further diagnosis; repeated filter removal is not a repair plan.
